Deaf Child Hope International Celebrates Lance’s Deaf Orphans’ Victory

Lance’s Deaf Orphans Place 2nd At Drama Festival! We are thrilled to share some inspiring news from our partner in Kenya, Lance’s Deaf Orphans (LDO)! The deaf orphans recently achieved a remarkable milestone by participating in the County Government of Kisii’s Drama Festival, a highly anticipated event attended by thousands each year.

A Victory Worth Celebrating

LDO Director Winston Omondi shared the joyous news:

“We went for the Drama Festivals and we are glad and full of joy to inform you and Deaf Child Hope that Lance’s Deaf Orphans won one trophy, three certificates, and received recognition from the County Government.”

This incredible victory has earned them a place in both the Regional Drama Festival in Oyugis and the National Drama Festival in Meru County.

Empowering Deaf Children Through Recognition

Participation in cultural events like the Kisii Drama Festival is a monumental achievement for deaf children in Kenya and across Africa, where many face stigma, isolation, and discrimination. Deaf children are often marginalized and considered outcasts due to deep-rooted societal misconceptions.

The invitation, recognition, and subsequent victory at the festival demonstrate the immense talent, resilience, and determination of these young men and women. It’s a significant step toward inclusion and breaking down barriers for deaf children in Kenya.

A Call to Celebrate Their Success

We invite you to celebrate and honor the hard work and dedication of Lance’s Deaf Orphans. We are just so proud of the children and their win at this prestigious event! It’s obvious that their hard work and their efforts were recognized. Their victory is a beacon of hope, showing what can be achieved when deaf children are empowered, valued, and given opportunities to thrive.

Congratulations to the entire LDO team — we are incredibly proud of you!
